Volume percentage produced

Graph constructed of clipped material showing the percentage of volume produced at each inch of height by tobosa grass (Hilaria mutica). Five medium-sized tobosa tufts were clipped at 1-inch intervals from the top of the tallest flower stalk to the ground surface. The plant material taken from all 5 plants from the ground surface to 1 inch above ground is labeled 1 inch, and this was followed up to 11 inches. So little plant material was produced above 11 inches that all material from 11 to 23 inches was divided and displayed in two 6 inch groups. Original Photo Number 356026.
