Chamiza plant
Mesquite sandhill artificial revegetation enclosure, 1 chain west of rain gauge, a 2 year old plant of chamiza (Atriplex canescens) that started growth in October 1935 in the protective crown of a dead snakeweed. The plant is 22 inches tall and 15 inches wide. It is growing on the barren south slope of a mesquite sand dune. Original Photo Number 356021.
