Paspalum stramineum bisect
Panicum enclosure, bisect of root system of Paspalum stramineum. These roots were dug from a 2-inch vertical slab except at the top which is about 3 inches. The light colored roots (about 24 in number) just below the crown, are young roots produced in the last week. Most of the mature roots are so dark in color that they blend with the background.
