Plant soil correlation study
Plant soil correlation study number 13, vegetation and vehicle. The type here represented extends over much of the western portion of the drainage. The vegetation is composed of 40 percent Larrea glutinosa, 40 percent Triodia pulchella, 7 percent Ephedra trifurea, 5 percent Kramaria parviflora, 3 percent Yucca elata, 2 percent Bouteloua eriopoda and 2 percent Aristida sp. The average density is .30 and the forage acre factor is .01. Erosion on the area consists of slight wind erosion and slight sheet erosion with occasional gullies. The slope gradient is 5 percent. Micro-relief consists of slight removal and accumulation to 6 inches high. The soil is fairly young and sandy type, developed on recent Bolsom fan deposits. It has an uncemented zone of lime concentrations and no caliche. Original photo number 152.
