Repeat of L.C. Hurtt's photo number WO 29594A taken in 1916 in the south end of pasture 6, about one-half mile northwest of Dona Ana enclosure. Today the black grama is entirely gone. Herbaceous cover consists mainly of zinnia and annuals such as Chenopodium incisum. The creosotebush has increased to some extent since 1916. Date of reduced effectiveness of the fence in protecting the plot is unknown. Summerford Mountain in the background. Original Photo Number 450453.
