Caption Pasture 1, .5 mile north of Puddle Tank and 1 mile west of major enclosure number 2. Range management class from State College of New Mexico under Parker, examining an unusual occurrence of Panicum obtusum. Here occurs an area about 30 feet wide and 80 feet long of good Panicum obtusum turf on sandy soil several feet deep with no visible source of extra moisture. Panicum is usually found on the heavier soils and in places that recieve drainage water. The grass has stabilized the sand. Same as photo number 319097. Original Photo Number 319098.
